Reflections of HOME Arts Festival

The mission of this Arts Festival is to celebrate the written, visual, and performance arts, to showcase the many talented artists of Danville, and to highlight the beauty of the River District. While this is an inaugural event, we hope that this festival will take root and expand throughout the years, reflecting Danville’s growth over time.

This year, the festival will take place from September 22 to 24 (additional dates may be added if needed) and will culminate with an interpretive performance of Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Tell-Tale Heart” at Union Street Park presented by Richmond actor Dean Knight.

 River District merchants and community partners interested in hosting a workshop, performance, class, or event that embodies the arts and the mission of the festival can request inclusion to the festival calendar by submitting a proposal to the program selection committee via email to

Come create a barn quilt painting for your home or outdoor decoration. Exterior grade lumber and exterior paint is used. THE 9/24 CLASS IS SOLD OUT! THE NEXT CLASS IS 11/5, PLEASE SEE SEPARATE EVENT LISTING TO REGISTER Choose either a 2’x2’ board for $70 or a 3’x3’ board for $90. Designs must be submitted by SEPT 21. No refunds available after design is submitted.

Reflections of HOME - Unhappy Hour

Experience Edgar Allan Poe’s terrifying story, The Tell-Tale Heart brought to life…and death! Audience members put the notorious murderer on trial, acting as judge, defense lawyer, prosecuting attorney, and jury. After a compelling testimony and interactive arguments, the jury determines the fate of the murderer. Admission into this event includes one beverage ticket, heavy hors d'oeuvres, and live performance. Additional beverages available for purchase.
