River District Spotlight:  This is a new monthly video series celebrating the River District.  Each segment tells the story of businesses and organizations in the River District, and highlights upcoming events.  

Holiday Window Decorating Contest: Every year River District businesses put up some amazing holiday displays. Voting for the 2025 holiday decorations will take place between November 24, and December 4, 2025.  We can't wait to see what beautiful windows appear this year!

Christmas on the Plaza: Christmas on the Plaza is a fun celebration of community for the holiday season, culminating in the lighting of the Christmas Tree on the downtown Plaza. Out 2025 event will be held on Friday, Dec. 5 from 5 - 8 p.m.

Shop Small Saturday:  We heavily promote Shop Small Saturday through our Holiday Gift Guide, paid marketing, and social media channels. 

Holiday Gift Guide: This guide is distributed to over 20,000 through the River City Area Magazine, HYCO Lake Magazine and SOBO Halifax Magazine.  It highlights all the gift opportunities and holiday events happening downtown.
